What is an Expired Domain?
An Expired Domain is a domain that has expired because the owner did not renew it. These domains may have existing backlinks, traffic, and domain authority (DA) that can be beneficial for SEO. Expired domains can offer quicker SEO results compared to new domains, which is why many SEO professionals and domain investors use them.
Why Use Expired Domains?
- Retain Existing Backlinks: High-quality backlinks built by the previous owner can be advantageous for SEO.
- Domain Authority (DA): Acquiring domains with high DA increases the chances of ranking higher in search engines.
- Traffic: Existing visitors to the domain can still generate traffic.
- Brand Value: You can acquire easy-to-remember domain names or those associated with specific keywords.
Majestic TF (Trust Flow)
Majestic Trust Flow (TF) is a metric that measures the quality of links pointing to a website. It is part of Majestic’s suite of tools used to assess the strength and relevance of a website’s backlink profile.
A higher Trust Flow score indicates that the website has strong, authoritative links pointing to it. In contrast, a lower Trust Flow score suggests that the website may have weaker or spammy links.
- High Trust Flow (TF): Indicates that the website is linked to by high-quality, authoritative websites.
- Low Trust Flow (TF): Indicates that the website may be linked to by low-quality or unreliable websites.
Majestic TR (Topical Trust Flow)
Majestic Topical Trust Flow (TR) is a sub-metric of Trust Flow that categorizes a website’s link profile based on the content or topic of the websites linking to it.
This metric helps assess how authoritative a website is within a specific niche or industry. Websites with high Topical Trust Flow are considered experts in their domain.
- Topical Trust Flow: Measures the relevance of links within a specific category such as technology, health, or news.
- Usage: Helps evaluate the impact of backlinks within a niche subject area.
Comparison with DA (Domain Authority)
DA (Domain Authority) is a metric provided by Moz that is used to evaluate the overall SEO strength of a website. DA is scored based on the website’s link profile, content quality, and other SEO factors.
While Majestic’s TF and TR evaluate a website based on the quality and topic of its links, DA is a more comprehensive SEO metric that assesses the overall authority of a website.
- Majestic TF: Evaluates the quality of links.
- Majestic TR: Evaluates a website’s authority within a specific niche.
- DA: Evaluates the overall SEO strength of a website.
